Should I Repair or Replace my Windshield?
Important Info.
We repair damages up to a quarter coin and based on how long they’ve been there, we can reduce blemish visibility up to 98%. Repairing it, restores the structural integrity of the windshield, and saves you money. For a good result, the chip must be absolutely dry at the time of repair. If water entered into the chip, two or three dry days are needed for it to dry otherwise the repair will turn cloudy.

Q: Does my Insurance cover the repair expenses?
If you have comprehensive coverage, yes. Make sure to call your agent first and find out if you have a deductible to pay.
Q: I only have liability Insurance.
Liability alone will not cover for glass repair.
Q: Will my rates go up?
No. Usually a windshield damaged from a pebble or else, falls under “no fault” claim therefore your rates are staying the same.
Q: How long will a repair last?
If resin can seal the gaps of a crack all the way and no contamination is present it lasts forever. Contaminants like wax and Rain-X are the worst factors when we refer to the longevity and the aesthetic of a repair. When these kind of chemicals make their way inside the chip, there’s no way of telling how long the resin will hold. That’s when we use a more acidic resin to break down the contaminants, since it’s impossible to extract wax or rain-x out of a damage before injecting our resin. The repair in such cases will be a bit more visible, but strong enough to last many years.
…Therefore, it’s a good idea to place a tape on the damage right after it happens, or to be kept dry if all possible until it can be serviced.

Q: Do I need to clean my windshield before the technician comes?
Absolutely not. It’s not recommended at all. Water inside the chip will react against the resin and the repair will turn out cloudy.
